Norman Park State School has all classes in Years 4, 5 and 6 operating as BYOD iPad classes.
For students to bring an iPad to school, each family is required to read through the Norman Park State School BYOD iPad charter (PDF, 1.1MB) and sign the student participation agreement located in the charter. Some students who do not participate in the BYOD iPad program, access school shared devices during the school day.
An information evening will be held in Term 4 of each year, sharing knowledge and processes required for BYO iPad access at Norman Park State School. Parents will be able to hear technical advice, the benefits of using iPads in the classroom and strategies to maintain cybersafety at school and at home.
The aim of the BYOD iPad program is to establish an environment where students can feel supported to take risks and learn through digital technology whilst developing their capabilities to be savvy in this ever changing technological world.
