Principal’s Welcome

Norman Park State School is a co-educational school from Prep to Year 6 which provides a safe and caring environment to support high quality learning to occur.

Our pedagogical framework for planning, teaching and assessment is based on current educational research models that underpin pedagogical practices.

The four key focus areas of the framework are:

  1. John Fleming's Explicit Teaching.
  2. Harvard University's Culture of Thinking.
  3. Griffith University's Proportional Reasoning.
  4. School-wide Positive Behaviour Support Framework.

The school provides a safe, tolerant and disciplined learning environment evidenced by the successful implementation of the Responsible behaviour management plan (PDF, 384 KB) and social skills program.

Our pastoral care program includes Peer Support, Leadership Development; School, Cultural, Sports and Library Captains.

There is strong community support for Norman Park State School. The P&C Association and the school are supported by class parent coordinators who liaise with school community members.

We strive to provide a balanced education and a broad range of relevant and engaging learning experiences, challenging our students to discover their unique potential and individual strengths; as per our school vision.

  • 'Reaching our Potential - Aspiring for Personal Best'.
  • 'Onwards and Upwards'.
