Dolphins Swim Club
The Norman Park State School & District Swimming Club (also known as The Dolphins) is a sub-committee of the NPSS P&C Association. It offers a fantastic opportunity for children to learn and improve their swimming skills in a fun, non-competitive environment.
Club times and information
The Dolphins Swim Club meets every Friday night at the school pool from Term 4 in October through to the end of Term 1, excluding the Christmas school holidays. Club nights run from 5:30pm for a 6pm start, concluding around 7:30pm. A BBQ dinner is offered each night.
Skill level and competition
Children don’t need to be skilled swimmers to enjoy the benefits of our Swimming Club. Swimmers of all abilities participate in time trials, aiming to improve their personal bests. Times are recorded, and improvement points are given for each swim. At the end of the season, these points are tallied, and the swimmer with the highest total is crowned Club Champion.
For younger children, there is a 'half-pool' race that is not timed, where each child is paired with a senior swimmer for assistance, making it accessible even for beginners.
