Technology in action
Using digital technology to enhance teaching and learning in all classrooms has become a driving force in 2017. Developing staff and student capabilities is essential for extending teaching, learning and assessment opportunities. This development has been a whole-school approach with teachers and students supported by the inclusion of 3 digital coaches.
The role of the coaches is to develop:
-
Knowledge identified in the Australian Curriculum.
- Skills required to be proficient in using a range of digital technologies and sharing with teachers effective ways of incorporating digital technology into teaching and learning.
Implementation of digital technologies connects to the inclusion of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). With an emphasis on STEM identified by the Department of Education and Training ‘Advancing Education’ policy, our school has a clear line of sight to ensure that our students are given many and varied possible opportunities to learn, to play, to make, to develop and become citizens of the future.
